Community Service Scholarship
The student must be graduating from high school and have demonstrated a
commitment to improving Hicksville through leadership and participation in
community service activities.
Two scholarships of $250 each will support graduating high school seniors who have
demonstrated a commitment to improving Hicksville through participation
in community service activities.
1.
A letter of recommendation from a teacher or community leader that can attest to the
student’s community service
is also a plus.

Preference will be given to students whose families are members of and live within the
area of the HGCA (south of Old Country Road, west of South Oyster Bay Road, east of
Jerusalem Avenue and north of Bloomingdale and Scooter Roads).

Student must be accepted into and attend a two or four year accredited college,
university or trade school.

No minimum grade point average is required, but a solid academic record is a plus.
Financial need is not required.
The student must complete and sign an application.
A one page essay, double-spaced, explaining the student’s reasons for seeking this
scholarship
is a plus.
