9/23/08 - Update

At a Town Board hearing (regarding other issues) HGCA President Henry Goessmann was allowed to read
the following statement into public record:

"The Hicksville Gardens Civic Association hereby expresses its support for the Duffy Park Civic
Association in its efforts to require that the Town of  Oyster Bay study all possible alternatives prior to
making a determination to replace the soon to be demolished Town of  Oyster Bay Parking Garage at its
current location. It is important that all environmental studies that would be required if this was new
construction be completed prior to any determination being made and any construction being commenced.
A comprehensive parking plan for the area surrounding the Hicksville Train Station must be developed to
improve the quality of life for the entire Hicksville community.

The Block & Board of the Hicksville Gardens Civic Association"

This statement was also forwarded to Newsday, the Hicksville Illustrated News and the Mid-Island Times
for publication in the "Letters to the Editor" column.  It was also forwarded to Susana Enriquez of
Newsday who has been reporting on the issue.
