On October 28, 2008 Lowe's of Hicksville opened it's doors for business.  Despite some minor issues which the company addresses immediately,
the opening appears to be an asset to our community.

Miyako Hibachi Sushi Bar
This building is located at 550 South Broadway
The restaurant opened on May 1st, 2009 and is a welcomed establishment in our community.

Taco Bell
Currently located on the southeast corner of South Broadway and Old Country Road
The  restaurant has relocated to the Delco Plaza property on the South Broadway side.
According to Delco Plaza owner, Alvin Rush, all of the improvements to the plaza can be contributed to Yum Brands, Inc. which owns Taco Bell.

Friendly's Restaurant
This property is located in the Delco Plaza Shopping Center
The restaurant is up and running.  The most important issue is pedestrian safety.
It was noted that even though an extra entrance/fire lane is being proposed motorist will still stop to drop off passengers before parking.
This will create a back up and must be addressed.

Doshi Diagnostic Imaging Group
This property is located at 560 South Broadway
The building has been renovated and opened in May, 2009 for business.  It is the corporate headquarters for the Doshi Diagnostic Imaging company.

Sleepy's Headquarters
This property is located near the Grumman site, east of New South Road and west of South Oyster Bay Road
(Section 46, Block 504, Lot(s) 130-133)
The community was quite taken back as the steel was being erected and came to find out that this structure will be nearly 50’ feet tall.  The property was
zoned for such a development and therefore the community did not require notification.

CVS Pharmacy
This site is located at 385 - 399 Jerusalem Avenue
CVS is proceeding to build a drive-thru pharmacy at the location.  At Town Board meetings the HGCA presented restrictive covenants for the development
which were acceptable to both the attorney for CVS and the Town Board.  Any issues raised by the HGCA during construction have been addressed quickly
and favorably.  We look forward to a "good neighbor"

Parking Garage
This property is located at 55 Duffy Avenue
The building extends from Duffy Avenue to West Marie Street along Newbridge Road.
The facility has been demolished and it will be replaced with a larger structure.
The HGCA has elected to support the Duffy Park Civic Association, within whose boundaries the property falls,
to ensure that the Town explore all possible alternatives to development of the property and surrounding area.

South Bloomingdale Plaza
This property is located at the "5 Corners" intersection
(So. Broadway and Bloomingdale Road)
The property has been developed into a shopping plaza after being granted a variance by the Town of Oyster Bay.
Development is being monitored by the HGCA because of prior violations.
Helicopter Monitoring
The noise from low flying helicopters has raised many complaints from residents.
The HGCA is monitoring the situation and meeting with representatives from Senator Charles Schumer's office and Cablevision.
